Any kitchen can have a unique splashback. Kitchens are personal. You live with your kitchen decisions for typically a decade so taking time to think through what you want as a collective to look at while cooking, to enjoy and be delighted is key. Let us work with you to realise your imagination..
Handmade kilnformed glass splashbacks are created to your exacting specification not just in size and shape to fit perfectly into your world - but the content is as critical - be it for a traditional or contemporary environment.
We can produce splashbacks up to 2m x 1m in one piece or in several panels to suit.
We don't use regular glass as some do - and we bespoke every single piece so it is unique piece of artwork that is yours alone. We choose to use Bullseye 6mm thick art glass, the surface is undulating capturing detail and depth as required, but so smooth... It is annealed for many hours to ensure that the glass "holds hands" internally and so is tougher than toughened glass. We install the glass for you unless you wish otherwise - usually sealing it completely against the wall. Gas burners and the risk of pot bashing is taken into consideration when creating the spec.
A price guide is that a 500mm x 500mm panel will start at £500 and will depend on design and colours chosen (e.g. some colours include gold)...
How long does a panel take to be created?
We suggest > 8 weeks from Quotation & Order. However, once the design brief has moved from outline to detailed - we will produce a Sample Panel (30cm x 30cm) showing the true colours & design. If this is approved, the sample piece can be made into a kitchen item such as a large bowl to compliment the Splashback. If you are having a new Kitchen installed, we will co-ordinate with your kitchen providers..
What if the sample panel doesn't hit my brief first time?
Well, we will redo it until it does if that is what you wish! (But you won't get multiple kitchen accessories just to be clear!)...
So, what is the Process?
We will do a site survey and measure the spaces where you want panels - look out for issues to be addressed... We will look at your household art as appropriate and discuss what your vision is... We might create a sized sketch then & there and discuss how it can be achieved or take our notes away for research. We will then present our ideas & shortly after - present a sample piece and if this hits the mark, provide a written quotation, timeline etc...
